Why we built this.
Ocala is the fastest-growing metro in the US, and the only published guides for newcomers are realtor-funded brochures. We built the version we wished existed when we were the ones moving in.
What we are
Ocala Unfiltered is an independent, data-driven relocation guide for people moving to Ocala, FL and Marion County. Every claim on this site traces to a primary source, the US Census Bureau, the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting program, the Florida Department of Education, Redfin/Zillow real estate data, FDLE incident reporting, or named local interviews.
What we are not
We are not a real estate brokerage. We do not list homes. We do not double-end deals. We do not take referral fees from realtors who haven't earned an editorial introduction. We do not publish content sponsored by a developer or a school.
How we make money
Three ways: paid reports for individual buyers ($29 / $49 / $199), a small monthly insider membership ($19/mo), and a vetted partner-introduction program where we recommend specific realtors to specific buyers based on profile fit. The partner program pays a referral commission on closed deals, paid by the broker, never by the buyer. Every recommendation is disclosed.
Editorial standards
- Every numerical claim has a sourced citation we will share on request.
- If we publish about a school, neighborhood, or business, we will name them. Vague references hide problems.
- We do not negotiate edits with subjects of coverage. We do correct factual errors.
- Sponsored content is labeled. Affiliate links are labeled. Paid partner introductions are labeled.
